Cani-Cal is calcium for adult dogs and cats, in a powder you mix into food on alternate days. There are no tablets to push down and no syrup to measure. It adds chelated calcium and phosphorus, with vitamins, trace minerals and herbs, to support strong bones and teeth. It's especially useful for pets on home-cooked meals, which are often short on calcium. More calcium isn't better, so give it as a course and stick to the amounts below.

Who it's for
Adult dogs and cats that eat mostly home-cooked food (rice, chicken, curd, vegetables), and older pets whose vet has suggested extra calcium.
Check with your vet first if your pet eats a complete packaged food (it already contains calcium), is a puppy or kitten (especially a large-breed puppy), has kidney problems, or already takes another calcium supplement.
How much to give
Mix into a meal on alternate days, as a course. Your vet can tell you how long the course should run.

What's inside, per 100 g
- Chelated calcium, 8.5% and chelated phosphorus, 4%. Chelated means the mineral is bound to an organic molecule. It's a form often used in supplements because the body takes it up well.
- Vitamins: vitamin A (5,000 IU), B1, B2, B6 and B12.
- Minerals: zinc, copper, manganese and sodium.
- Herbal extracts, 5%: including Leptadenia reticulata (jivanti), milk thistle (silymarin), Pueraria mirifica, long pepper (pippali) and asparagus.
- Protein, 10%, including lysine, with soya protein 5% and chicken liver meal 1%.
Contains soy and 1% chicken liver meal, so it isn't vegetarian.
What Cani-Cal won't do
It won't treat fractures, arthritis, dental disease or any bone condition. Those need a vet. Cani-Cal is a supplement, not a medicine.
Good to know
- More isn't better. Too much calcium causes problems of its own, which is why the amount is small and given on alternate days.
- Close tightly and store somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight.
